One of my friends is a cyclist. I never understood the fun of cycling. To me cycling is not particularly fun, a bike is a way to transport me from A to B.
Last September, when we had some beautiful sunny days, I thought of going for a swim at a local outdoor swimming pool. While arriving there, seeing how packed it was, I instantly retuned home. On my way home, I changed plans, I chose to go to one of Amsterdams beautiful city beaches for a quick cooling down dive instead.
While cycling there, I realised my swimming plans were not about cooling down, but about moving my body. So, I continued cycling, I made a detour to the city beach. And I finally understood what cycling is all about. I loved it!
The movement of my body, the rythm of my breath, the energy floating through my vains, the joy of being outside and looking around me. It was probably the best, most valuable detour I ever made.
Feeling my body, to me is feeling alive.
Sparkling and vibrant.
What kind of movement brings you back to life?
