Mirror mirror on the wall

I look at myself in the mirror, I’m staring at the irrevocable process of growing older. I can brush it off and tell you I don’t mind. That would be a lie. I don’t like the signs in my face that show I’m ageing. But, I also feel blessed that I’m ageing, because if I wasn’t, I wouldn’t be walking around here anymore and I like to be here. Life is fun!

Last Saturday I went dancing. I was probably one of the oldest people in the club as it was an 18+ party, but to me it didn’t matter. I just loved the atmosphere, the music and the dancing.

The real burden of growing old is not the lines in my face, not my body that becomes less beautiful. It’s my mind judging myself and trying to stick to youth.

Next Saturday I will sing Alphavilles “Forever Young” on stage at a small theatre in the heart of Amsterdam. It’s just a small concert of all the pupils of my singing teacher, @EviDeJean. She asked me to explain to the audience what the song means to me.

To me the song means: Enjoy life today, in the here and now, by living our life in the future we just forget to see every days beauty.

Inspiration overflow

I thought after writing my first few blogs that I’d written my story and that my short career as a blogger would end there. Oh, boy, how I was wrong!  When I finally started allowing my creativity to flow, I found out it’s endless. It will never stop. And yes, I’m excited, because there’s more…

Next week I sing again in this small theatre in the hart of Amsterdam. It reminded me of this blog that I posted at the beginning of this year.
