Remember? You were 10 years old, you were on a playdate at your best friends’ house and you were both bored to death.
You propose to play ‘X’.
Your friend: “Nah, not feeling like playing X.”
“Let’s play Y.”
You: “Nah, not really in the mood.”
Your friend: “I’m bored.”
You: “Me too.”
Suddenly……, out of nothing: magic!
You’re building a castle from old boxes, paint is everywhere, you create knights with swords and a drawbridge, you create a track right through the castle to have your radio-controlled car race around the track and also your guinea pig is invited to check the trail.
It gets bigger and wilder🔥⚡️🔥⚡️✨
Then, while in the midst of this amazing creative explosion, your mum calls you from downstairs.
She’s here to pick you up. Obviously, for you leaving is not an option. You have so much fun!! You try to postpone the verdict by ignoring her call for a while.
In the end your mum wins, dinner is at the table waiting for you.
You go home with regret, but promise each other to play along the next day.
The date has been set: tomorrow.
A playdate.
