YOUR HAPPY FLOW

Do you know this flow? It’s the state of mind that you have when you know things will succeed. You feel the energy floating around you and every step that you take feels like a step in exactly the right direction. You don’t hesitate, don’t procrastinate, you just do. You take your step effortless and it’s not just one step, you also take the next one.

For quite some time, I lost my flow. It was nowhere to be found and it took me a while to remember mine.

One day, I saw my son cooking. He truly loves cooking. He mixes and matches ingredients without any hesitation. Of course, sometimes the combination doesn’t fit the way he thought it would, but when that happens, he just starts all over again. You can tell cooking is his passion. This manifested itself when he was still very young. I remember him asking a mortar to crush herbs as a birthday present when he was only 11 years old!

Looking at him, I realised he was living his flow and I suddenly knew where I would need to look for my own. In my thoughts I went back to my childhood.

When I look at my 16 year old me, it was all about creativity. Back then, I was in this flow frequently while creating new clothes. Designing was my hobby and I could spend hours without noticing the world around me, having no clue of time. In my mind I saw the direction that I wanted to go to.

When I started studying, the designing slowly moved away from my life and somehow I just forgot about it.

But my heart didn’t! It kept coming back to me, asking me to pay attention to the things I loved most. Slowly, I moved back again, making connection to the child within me….

A few months ago, I was waiting for a red traffic light, all of a sudden things clicked in my head, I just felt tremendously happy. I suddenly realised that what I’m doing right now, creating for my company, Wake up your Wisdom, is designing too. The form is different, but the creativity comes from the same place: deep down in my heart.

Creating, in various forms, is my way to make the world more beautiful.

Creating is my happy flow.

What’s yours?

And then, you’re on your own.

Do you recall a situation when you were suddenly on your own? * Leaving your parents’ house when you went to university?* The loss of a loved one?* A divorce? There are many situations in which we all of a sudden feel left alone. I’m currently in such a situation. I left my job, my…

MOVE!

One of my friends is a cyclist. I never understood the fun of cycling. To me cycling is not particularly fun, a bike is a way to transport me from A to B. Last September, when we had some beautiful sunny days, I thought of going for a swim at a local outdoor swimming pool.…

DON’T STOP ME NOW (CAUSE I’M HAVING A GOOD TIME)

“Don’t stop me now” – Queen 1978 “Tonight I’m gonna have myself a real good time, I feel alive”. I’m cutting through every safety cord that I had left. I feel insecure, but also determined.  If I truly want to be free, I need to release all boundaries.I did the thing that scared me most:…
