I did an internship in Tunisia when I was 21. In the mornings, I drove to my work to an inland fashion factory. In the evenings, to pay for my rent, I had an extra job, working at the Ruspina hotel animation team, entertaining the hotel quests with sketches, dancing, singing.
Back then and there, I found out that I love to be on stage, being visible. It felt great.
Coming back home, in my usual surroundings I somehow wasn’t able to maintain my new outgoing ‘here I am’ me and I crawled back in my tiny cocoon, making myself small and invisible again. My old habits just came back easily. I felt kinda save. I wasn’t noticed. I wasn’t being me and therefore, I wasn’t happy.
Luckily, that was years ago. I now know that to become truly happy, it’s important to be the full you. To show all of you to the world, despite your deeply rooted insecurities.
I was lucky to have beautiful people around me that supported me on my journey to be the full me and that’s what I wish for everyone.
Let’s support each other in this and allow everyone to find happiness.
Let’s be kind and gentle and without judgement.
Invite your close ones to show themselves fully.
Give them all your love and support.
Can you imagine what beauty will arise from this?
