Of toch?

Haar naam is Pamela…..

en dat ben ik!

Wees welkom in mijn wereld.

šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§

She was an elephant.

Powerful. Ancient. Strong.

But she was also grey, clumsy, stubborn and heavy.

She had allowed herself to be locked away in the zoo of the human world. She had done that herself. Carefully, she had picked up one stone after another with her trunk, stacking them patiently until a thick, solid wall appeared. It was a strong wall too, because she never believed in doing things halfway.

She was proud of what she had built. The outside world found it impressive. Behind it, she was safe. But she also felt trapped.

And so she sat there, colourless, knowing that she was not meant to be. She had a big heart and so much to give, yet no one to receive it.

She looked, but saw nothing. She listened, but heard nothing. Or did she? Deep inside there was a cry. A cry she could no longer ignore. Everything hurt. She knew it was soul pain. And she knew there was only one way to heal it: she would have to walk a brave path.

So she did. It turned out to be a long path. A lonely path. A heavy path. With her trunk, she carefully loosened the first stone. A ray of light appeared. It was beautiful. Soft. Colourful. It gave her new energy. Yet the despair and heaviness remained. Another stone. A smile. Another stone. The heaviness began to fade. Another stone. Trust. And another. Now she is tired.

She feels she needs help. She cannot do it alone. She does not want to do it alone.

And she does not have to do it alone.

The world is full of loving, remarkable people willing to walk beside her. Side by side.

And that is how she has been able to grow into the beautiful, colourful peacock she is today. A little more, every day.

Her name is Pamela.

And that is me.

Welcome to my world.

MOVE!

One of my friends is a cyclist. I never understood the fun of cycling. To me cycling is not particularly fun, a bike is a way to transport me from A to B. Last September, when we had some beautiful sunny days, I thought of going for a swim at a local outdoor swimming pool.…
