Perfect Imperfect

Who tells you to be perfect?

October 11 in the shower, I was struggling with the November theme of the inspirational calendar that I’m publishing. The theme is beautiful but the normal creativity flow for content seemed to be stuck. The fluidity just wasn’t right.

Overthinking this, I suddenly realized that I didn’t have a blog finished yet for the first Sunday of November either. As you might know, I post every first Sunday of the month for a few years now.

In general, I have at least a few half finished stock blogs waiting for the right energy and moment to be finalized. I pick one and finish it off. This time none of these seemed to be suitable right now.

I felt stressed.

It was stunning, because, while being stressed, I realized: Who cares? Do my readers care if I let it slip once? They might notice and regret that there wasn’t any today. Or they even might not notice at all.

It’s me who created this perfect rhythm of monthly posts.

Feeling the stress and seeing this self created loop was an eye-opener.

Do I allow myself to be imperfect and skip it once or maybe twice?
Is it okay to let it slip?
Am I okay being imperfect?

The answer is “yes”, of course!

Anyway, overthinking this was a blog in itself. Do I think it’s perfect? Honestly, most of the others were way better than this one. But considering the title, I decided to publish it, as it’s message is perfect in its own way.

So, here you go this is November’s blog!

When is imperfect already perfect enough for you?

And then, you’re on your own.

Do you recall a situation when you were suddenly on your own? * Leaving your parents’ house when you went to university?* The loss of a loved one?* A divorce? There are many situations in which we all of a sudden feel left alone. I’m currently in such a situation. I left my job, my…

MOVE!

One of my friends is a cyclist. I never understood the fun of cycling. To me cycling is not particularly fun, a bike is a way to transport me from A to B. Last September, when we had some beautiful sunny days, I thought of going for a swim at a local outdoor swimming pool.…

DON’T STOP ME NOW (CAUSE I’M HAVING A GOOD TIME)

“Don’t stop me now” – Queen 1978 “Tonight I’m gonna have myself a real good time, I feel alive”. I’m cutting through every safety cord that I had left. I feel insecure, but also determined.  If I truly want to be free, I need to release all boundaries.I did the thing that scared me most:…

GO! PLAY! OUTSIDE! NOW!

When will you finally step outside of your comfort zone?  Outside your comfort zone lies a whole new world full of bright and vivid experiences. I found this hard to believe myself. I loved my soft, safe space, but my creative me wanted to write and continuously invited me to show up. I had no…
