What does your body tell you?

My body tells me everything. Every little part whispers to me. It invites me to pay attention.

Especially whenever change is coming up. I then usually feel both fear and joy. Even when I know upfront that the change is for the good (all change eventually is), I still feel fear.

I feel my heart beating stressfully and I feel my heart skipping a beat of excitement.

I feel my stomach contracting as if it wants to warn me not to dive into this and I feel butterflies in my stomach like I just fell in love again.

I feel my shoulders tensing as if someone loaded it with a huge weight and I feel my shoulders stretching backward making myself broad and big, because I can do this and I am looking forward to it.

For me the signals are clear: when the excitement dominates, my choice in a new direction is the right one. In this way I made many decisions, big and small: buying my house feeling a shiver through my whole body when I crossed the doorstep, the thrill of excitement and an upcoming smile when I post a new blog and the story feels right.

Sometimes I don’t listen closely enough. There’s always more to learn.

But when I do, when I stand still and truly listen, then……

What does your body tell you?

MOVE!

One of my friends is a cyclist. I never understood the fun of cycling. To me cycling is not particularly fun, a bike is a way to transport me from A to B. Last September, when we had some beautiful sunny days, I thought of going for a swim at a local outdoor swimming pool.…

DON’T STOP ME NOW (CAUSE I’M HAVING A GOOD TIME)

“Don’t stop me now” – Queen 1978 “Tonight I’m gonna have myself a real good time, I feel alive”. I’m cutting through every safety cord that I had left. I feel insecure, but also determined.  If I truly want to be free, I need to release all boundaries.I did the thing that scared me most:…
