The European football competition. As I’m Dutch I love these matches. I love the exuberance of people dressed in orange and the energy buzzing around in the city. Preferably, I watch the match at a friends place or in a pub. Having a beer in my hands…..
Like today, last week we had a match on a Tuesday evening and yes, I went to friends to see the match together. While cycling there I realized that I, in my mind, was looking forward to a cold beer. I usually don’t drink on Tuesday eve’s and with a shock I realized how much programmed I am.
Probably we all are: I know my own kids are, going to the movies goes with popcorn….
Though confronting, this realization of recognizing my automatic pilot working overtime on many occasions also makes me feel rich.
I feel rich, not only because I’m able to buy my beer during tonight’s match, but because I’m aware of my free choice.
